Jewelry Fair 2010 - Beauty and the Beast

As children, we loved fantasy. Damsels in distress, white knights, evil stepsisters, wolves and fairy godmothers were part of our world. Growing up has its advantages of course, but in becoming adults we sometimes lose the romance -- the feeling that right around the corner an adventure may unfold.

Jewelry Fair 2010 (opening the 8th) recaptures some of the magic that was part of our young lives. Beauty and the Beast is the theme, a classic fairytale of grand proportions. The four sim build is divided into backdrops of the storyline -- not only in locale, but in the jewelers that inhabit the regions.

The forest (Jewelry Fair 1) offers a winding path through trees and foliage. Gypsy wagons, tinkers' carts, cabins and straw huts are home to fantasy, ethereal and eclectic style jewelry.

Beast's Castle and surrounding grounds (Jewelry Fair 2) is dark themed, a fitting place for Gothic jewelry and designs that call to deep desires.

Beauty's Castle and castle grounds (Jewelry Fair 3) houses the fancier shops for jewelers with formal and traditional jewelry.

The People's Village (Jewelry Fair 4) , a homey Bavarian area including a town square  features casual style jewelers.

My personal favorite area to explore is the Bavarian Village. It is indeed welcoming with wide paths and quaint architecture. But even though my adornment tastes tend toward the casual side, I found some favorites in the other sections. So while you may want to start in the sim that seems to fit your tastes, be sure and explore the whole fair. Many jewelers produce a wide range of styles, so you may find that perfect casual piece nearby Beauty's Castle or a lovely period adornment in a spot you never expected. Be adventurous, enjoy the fair -- and don't miss the $25 kissing booth.
